Innovate for Sustainability with AI Student Challenge

SUSTech College of Engineering together with multi-award-winning global design company Petrus, have invited local and international students - including from SUSTech College of Design - to join an interactive Sustainability & Innovation challenge ahead of the 2024 GEDC Industry Forum.
What happened at the Innovate for Sustainability with AI Student Challenge?
20 students from Southern University of Science and Technology (SUSTech) in Shenzhen, China, from the College of Engineering and School of Design, accompanied by 2 international students from BEST (Board of European Students of Technology), worked on a real world challenge about embedding sustainability in engineering education using as well the power of Artificial Intelligence.
The students’ challenge was to design an education program that enables all students to learn what they need to address environmental sustainability.
Working in international and interdisciplinary teams with support from a range of expert speakers and coaches, the participating students harnessed the power of innovative AI tools and tackled the sustainability challenge while developing their employability skills, coming up with 4 amazing solutions that were showcased to the GEDC Industry Forum participants.
